With everything else left as it was, I had been overthinking this part of the space; this seating piece solved the visual problem more simply than I expected. The overall effect in our living room is stronger than the individual piece looked on its own. What surprised me was how well it worked in everyday life instead of only looking good on its own, especially when I look at the room as a whole. I like that the room still feels relaxed rather than overly coordinated. This ended up being exactly the kind of update our living room needed.
Family came over recently, and the seating piece ended up getting more compliments than anything else in our family room. I did not buy it for compliments, but they have been a nice confirmation. That is enough for me to feel very good about the purchase.
From one side of our living room to the other, the nicest part is how naturally this seating piece became part of our everyday use of this room. It has become part of our normal evenings without making the room feel overly arranged. The overall effect in our living room is stronger than the individual piece looked on its own. It stands out just enough and still lets the rest of the room do its job. It is slightly more noticeable in the room than I expected, though not in a way I regret.
