Within the living room, I kept coming back to the seat because it looked like it would suit the space, and it does. I can change smaller things around the seat without feeling like the whole plan for the living room has to change. It stands out just enough and still lets the rest of the room do its job. I would make the same decision for the living room again.
I was aiming for understated, and the seat landed in the right place visually. The overall effect in my bedroom is stronger than the individual piece looked on its own. I was hoping the seat would pull my bedroom together, and it did that without making the space feel overly coordinated. This ended up being exactly the kind of update my bedroom needed.
