I kept the rest of our living area simple, and this case piece gives the space just enough presence. I was aiming for something that felt at home rather than showy, and this got us much closer to it. For our living area, this cabinet turned out to be a better fit than the more elaborate options I considered. What surprised me was how easy it was to keep the room feeling relaxed around it, especially when the house is busy. I was hoping this cabinet would pull our living area together, and it did that without making the space feel overly coordinated. I can change smaller things around this cabinet without feeling like the whole plan for our living area has to change. It has settled into the room as though it had always been planned there.
