To my eye in my primary bedroom, the balance in the room changed for the better once the piece was there. I did not need to change the rest of my primary bedroom for the piece to make sense there.
With everything else left as it was, I chose this piece because I liked it, and it was nice that the rest of the household agreed once it was in the space. I needed a little time to see how it fit with everything else, and now I am glad I kept the arrangement.
A month later, I am even happier with how this bedroom piece works in our guest bedroom. The look has a little more visual presence than I pictured, but it ended up working for the room.
