For my main dining space, the table turned out to be a better fit than the more elaborate options I considered.
A friend noticed the table almost immediately and said our main dining space finally looked finished. It is always a good sign when people notice a change without the room feeling showy. I notice it without feeling like the whole room revolves around it. The room took one extra round of rearranging before I was completely happy with it.
The balance in our dining room changed for the better once this table was there. Seeing this table with the rest of our dining room makes the whole arrangement feel more connected.
In our dining room, the room finally has a focal point that still feels easy to live with. I was aiming for a space that felt finished without looking formal, and the room finally has that balance. The overall effect in our dining room is stronger than the individual piece looked on its own. I am happy with the balance we ended up with in our dining room.
