For my dining area, the table turned out to be a better fit than the more elaborate options I considered. The surrounding furniture feels less random now that the table is part of my dining area. The best part for me is that my dining area still feels relaxed even with the table giving it more structure. I was unsure about the overall effect at first, but after living with it, I like the direction.
I had a hard time deciding what our dining area was missing, and this table turned out to be the answer. I appreciate it most when the room is just being lived in normally. I would choose the same direction again for this space.
Within our living area, I wanted the house to feel lived in rather than staged, and this table works well with that idea. The overall effect in our living area is stronger than the individual piece looked on its own.
