Made of solid Mindi wood with hand-carved details and a beautiful walnut color hand wax finish. Collection was inspired by designs done during the period of English Monarchs William and Mary, 1689-1702. William was of Dutch origin and brought with him Dutch craftsman and the idea that ordinary people could enjoy comfort. The designs featured lines that were simpler and more delicate than designs before that time, with an emphasis on vertical lines. Highboys and chests on legs were invented at this time as was the first china cabinet originally designed for Queen Mary to house her collection of Delftware.

The placement feels right, the room feels settled, and I am glad I chose the case piece. It has settled into the room as though it had always been planned there. It stands out just enough and still lets the rest of the room do its job. The overall effect in my hallway is stronger than the individual piece looked on its own. I can change smaller things around the case piece without feeling like the whole plan for my hallway has to change. I am happy with the balance we ended up with in my hallway.

Within the dining room, I had been overthinking this part of the space; this case piece solved the visual problem more simply than I expected. I did not need to change the rest of the dining room for this case piece to make sense there. The room feels more deliberate, but not like someone styled it just for a photo. It is slightly more noticeable in the room than I expected, though not in a way I regret.

For our living area, the cabinet turned out to be a better fit than the more elaborate options I considered. The room feels more grown-up now, but it still feels like a place we actually live in.

The more we use my study, the more natural the cabinet feels there. What surprised me was how much calmer the room seemed, especially when I look at the room as a whole. It gives the room direction while keeping the relaxed feeling we wanted. I spent a lot of time comparing options and am glad I did not rush the decision. That is enough for me to feel very good about the purchase.
