After the first few days, this piece stopped feeling new and simply started feeling right in our living area. It is slightly more noticeable in the room than I expected, though not in a way I regret.
For the hallway, I keep finding small moments when I am glad we chose this piece, especially when the space is being used normally. I can change smaller things around this piece without feeling like the whole plan for the hallway has to change. The best furniture choices for me are the ones that improve the whole room, and this one does. This piece is a choice I am happy to keep living with.
I had been overthinking this part of my hallway; this piece solved the visual problem more simply than I expected. What surprised me was how well it worked in everyday life instead of only looking good on its own, especially once the smaller decor went back into the room. This ended up being exactly the kind of update my hallway needed.
