In my hallway, this console has a natural place in the space now, whether we are using the space or just walking through. I would make the same decision for my hallway again.
In our hallway, I was aiming for understated, and the console landed in the right place visually. The room feels more finished, but not more formal, and that balance matters to me. The room looks intentional without feeling arranged for a photo. I was aiming for a change that would not force us to replace everything else, and this got us much closer to it. That is enough for me to feel very good about the purchase.
I wanted our living area to look collected rather than decorated all at once, and this piece helped with that. This piece is a choice I am happy to keep living with.
