With the rest of the room unchanged, I wanted one strong piece without making the space feel busy, and this worked out well. I wanted the room to feel finished without feeling formal, and this gets very close to that balance. I like seeing the room look put together even on an ordinary weekday. A little time has only made me like this dresser more in my primary bedroom. I would make the same decision for my primary bedroom again.
Compared with the room before, the balance in the room changed for the better once the piece was there. What surprised me was how little else needed to change once this was in place, especially on a quiet weekday. The room now looks finished even before any smaller decor is added. It has enough presence to matter without making the whole room revolve around it. For me, that makes the piece one of the better choices we made for the guest bedroom.
