From the first glance across the main dining space, the furniture we keep long term is usually the furniture that disappears into our routine, and this credenza is already doing that. It has enough presence to matter, but the room still has breathing space.
For the way we use our living area, the overall look is calmer now that the sideboard is part of the space. The room feels settled now, and I would not change the choice.
