There is a more finished rhythm to the dining area now, and this piece anchors it nicely. It works with what we already owned, so I did not feel like I had to rethink everything around it. I like that this piece works with what we already had in the dining area instead of making the rest of the room feel outdated. I notice the difference most when we are using the room normally. The room feels settled now, and I would not change the choice.
Weeks later, the thing I notice most is how complete my main dining space feels with this piece. I am pleased with the decision and with how my main dining space came together.
In our living area, I like this most when the house is quiet and the space is just being used normally. What surprised me was how much the surrounding furniture benefited visually, especially with the rest of our furniture around it. The room feels more grown-up now, but it still feels like a place we actually live in. The room feels better prepared for both everyday meals and having people over. This ended up being exactly the kind of update our living area needed.
Nothing about daily life in the dining room feels rearranged around the credenza, and I like that. What surprised me was how quickly it stopped feeling like a new addition, especially with the rest of our furniture around it. I was hoping the credenza would pull the dining room together, and it did that without making the space feel overly coordinated. It was not an instant yes for everyone in the house, but it grew on us quickly.
