For our living room, I wanted the room to look collected rather than decorated all at once, and the piece helped with that. The room feels settled now, and I would not change the choice.
My daughter noticed that our family room looked finished the first evening this piece was there. I am happy with the balance we ended up with in our family room.
As part of my family room, there is a more finished rhythm to the space now, and the seating piece anchors it nicely. It has become part of our normal evenings without making the room feel overly arranged. I was aiming for a room that felt collected rather than decorated all at once, and the room feels easier on the eye. My family room feels better as a whole, which matters more to me than any single detail.
I kept the rest of my main sitting area simple, and this piece gives the space just enough presence.
