In the context of our dining room, there is a more finished rhythm to this room now, and the sideboard anchors it nicely. It makes the room feel more complete even when nothing else is changed.
As part of the dining area, I usually need time to warm up to new furniture, but the credenza made sense in this room right away. It helped the dining area feel like a complete room rather than just a table and chairs. The dining area feels better as a whole, which matters more to me than any single detail.
With the rest of the room unchanged, there is something nice about furniture that makes the space feel better without changing how you live in it. I like that this sideboard works with what we already had in my dining area instead of making the rest of the room feel outdated. What surprised me was how little else needed to change once this was in place, especially at the end of the day. The space looks polished while the house still feels lived in. This sideboard is a choice I am happy to keep living with.
