Even on busy days, the coffee table makes the den feel a little more put together.
For family time, the living room table fits the den without making anything feel too precious. It felt a bit more noticeable than I expected at first, but the room settled around it quickly. Overall, it has been an easy piece to enjoy.
When the house is quiet, I notice the coffee table even more because it gives the den such an easy sense of balance. I have already stopped thinking of it as the new piece, which is probably the best compliment. It gave the room a more settled look. On busy days I barely notice it, but the room would definitely feel less complete without it. I am glad we went with it.
Seen from different parts of the house, the center table helps the den read as a more complete space. Nothing about it feels fussy in day-to-day use.
