For me, the accent console works because it feels just as natural during setting the house up before company comes as it does when the room is tidy. It felt a bit more noticeable than I expected at first, but the room settled around it quickly. It made the entry feel much more considered. The piece has a nice presence in person, but it does not make the rest of the room feel secondary. For us, it was the right call.
