One thing I appreciate is how the table gives the dining room presence without making it feel crowded.
Nothing else in the open dining area had to change for this table to make the whole setup feel better.
Over time, this dining room centerpiece has become one of those pieces that quietly makes the breakfast room work better. It works just as well on a normal weeknight as it does when people come over. The biggest difference is the sense of balance it gives the space. So far it has been the rare purchase that looks good and also fits the way the room is actually used. I am glad we went with it.
At our house, the dining table has blended into the dining room much faster than I expected. I was looking for a change I would notice every day, and this has been exactly that. It brought the whole dining space together. The rectangular shape works nicely with the way the room is laid out. The piece has a nice presence in person, but it does not make the rest of the room feel secondary. I am pleased with the decision.
