I keep finding small moments when I am glad we chose this sideboard, especially when my dining area is being used normally.
Within the dining room, the furniture we keep long term is usually the furniture that disappears into our routine, and this piece is already doing that. From different parts of the dining room, this piece still feels like it belongs with everything else. I was hoping this piece would pull the dining room together, and it did that without making the space feel overly coordinated. I would choose the same direction again for this space.
Even with the rest of the main dining space unchanged, the credenza made the setup feel more complete. It gives the dining space a stronger sense of balance. The dining area feels ready for both everyday meals and company now. I went back and forth on where it belonged before everything clicked.
Of everything I changed in our dining room, the sideboard made the most immediate visual difference. From different parts of our dining room, the sideboard still feels like it belongs with everything else. The best part for me is that our dining room still feels relaxed even with the sideboard giving it more structure. I can change smaller things around the sideboard without feeling like the whole plan for our dining room has to change. The end result in our dining room feels like our home, only more finished.
