For our media area, this piece turned out to be a better fit than the more elaborate options I considered. I went back and forth on where it belonged before everything clicked.
Within our family room, it is surprisingly hard to find furniture that feels distinct without feeling loud, and the piece gets that balance right. I was aiming for a more intentional room without a full redesign, and this ended up being the right direction. The room took one extra round of rearranging before I was completely happy with it.
For our TV room, the media console turned out to be a better fit than the more elaborate options I considered. The television area now looks like part of the room instead of something added afterward. I was unsure about the overall effect at first, but after living with it, I like the direction.
I had been overthinking this part of our living room; this TV area piece solved the visual problem more simply than I expected. It has enough presence to matter without making the whole room revolve around it.
