In the finished room, even when the room is not perfectly tidy, this sideboard still makes the overall space feel intentional. I wanted the room to feel finished without feeling formal, and this gets very close to that balance. I was aiming for a room that felt collected over time rather than decorated all at once. There is character here, but not so much that the space feels busy. The dining room feels better as a whole, which matters more to me than any single detail.
For my dining room, I had a hard time deciding what the room was missing, and this piece turned out to be the answer.
The room came together right before the holidays, and the piece was the finishing touch.
