I kept the rest of our sitting area simple, and the side table gives the space just enough presence. I would give it five stars if I had not spent so much time second-guessing the placement.
The more we use my living room, the more natural this piece feels there. I was aiming for a piece that would add presence without taking over, and the room finally has that balance. The room feels more finished, but not more formal, and that balance matters to me. It has enough presence to matter without making the whole room revolve around it. The end result in my living room feels like our home, only more finished.
For the bedroom, this table turned out to be a better fit than the more elaborate options I considered. I did not need to change the rest of the bedroom for this table to make sense there. The room has a better sense of proportion to my eye now. I spent a lot of time comparing options and am glad I did not rush the decision. The surrounding seating area feels more complete. The room feels settled now, and I would not change the choice.
