To my eye, the buffet gives the breakfast room enough structure without making it feel heavy.
Most days, the buffet simply feels like it belongs in the breakfast room, which is exactly what I wanted. It works with the rest of our furniture instead of competing with it. It has been easy to live with during everyday meals. It is noticeable enough to add character, but not so noticeable that everything else has to match it. I was trying to make the room feel edited rather than full, and this helped achieve that. I would make the same choice again.
Worked into the existing room, this buffet made the open dining area feel more cohesive than I expected.
