Seen from different parts of the house, the entryway table helps the hallway read as a more complete space. The first placement did not quite work for me, but moving it slightly made a big difference. It works nicely as the first piece you see when you walk in. I can see this staying in the room even if we change some of the surrounding pieces later. No regrets on this one.
Looking at the room as a whole, the console table adds presence without asking everything else to match it. A couple of guests have commented on how finished the space looks now. It gave an empty wall a purpose. It feels like a keeper.
At our house, the console table has blended into the hallway much faster than I expected. It gives the space some presence while still feeling easy to live with. For us, it was the right call.
