Against what we already had, the room did not need a full redo; adding this piece was enough to make it feel considered. I was aiming for something that felt at home rather than showy, and the result feels natural instead of staged. I was aiming for a space that felt finished without looking formal, and the change feels noticeable without feeling dramatic. I wanted the room to feel finished without feeling formal, and this gets very close to that balance. The room feels more grown-up now, but it still feels like a place we actually live in. The room feels settled now, and I would not change the choice.
The more we use my main dining space, the more natural this credenza feels there.
