This sideboard works just as well for a quiet evening as it does when the house is busy.
For the dining area, I had a hard time deciding what the room was missing, and this credenza turned out to be the answer. It is distinct enough to notice and quiet enough to live with. It stands out just enough and still lets the rest of the room do its job. The dining area feels better as a whole, which matters more to me than any single detail.
As part of our main dining space, the best sign is that this sideboard already feels like part of our regular routine in the space.
For our dining room, we have had a few people over since adding this sideboard, and it has quietly become part of the conversation. It was not an instant yes for everyone in the house, but it grew on us quickly.
