Within the living area, I wanted something we would enjoy every day, and this sideboard has become exactly that in the room. I was aiming for a room with a little more structure and a little less visual noise, and this got us much closer to it. The piece adds definition, but the room still feels comfortable. The dining area feels ready for both everyday meals and company now. I would give it five stars if I had not spent so much time second-guessing the placement.
The best sign is that the credenza already feels like part of our regular routine in the dining room. I notice the difference most when we are using the room normally. I was hoping the credenza would pull the dining room together, and it did that without making the space feel overly coordinated. I am happy with the balance we ended up with in the dining room.
