Most days I do not think about the furniture individually, but this piece still makes the main dining space feel more settled. The overall effect in the main dining space is stronger than the individual piece looked on its own. The surrounding furniture feels less random now that this piece is part of the main dining space. It stands out just enough and still lets the rest of the room do its job. I would make the same decision for the main dining space again.
Here in my dining room, I was trying to keep this room comfortable rather than overly styled, and this sideboard fits that goal. I notice the difference most when we are using the room normally. This sideboard is a choice I am happy to keep living with.
There is a more finished rhythm to the living area now, and the credenza anchors it nicely. It did not take long for the piece to feel like it belonged with everything else. The surrounding furniture feels less random now that the credenza is part of the living area. I would choose the same direction again for this space.
The overall look is calmer now that this sideboard is part of my main dining space. I was aiming for a piece that would add presence without taking over, and the overall setup now feels much more coherent.
