Within my dining area, the room finally has a focal point that still feels easy to live with. I was aiming for something that would work with what we already owned, and the rest of the furniture makes more sense around it. What surprised me was how easy it was to keep the room feeling relaxed around it, especially on a quiet weekday. I was hoping this piece would pull my dining area together, and it did that without making the space feel overly coordinated. This piece is a choice I am happy to keep living with.
Here in the dining room, I usually need time to warm up to new furniture, but this piece made sense in the space right away. It gives the dining space a stronger sense of balance. The overall effect in the dining room is stronger than the individual piece looked on its own. The end result in the dining room feels like our home, only more finished.
I like this most when the house is quiet and our living area is just being used normally. It makes the room feel more complete even when nothing else is changed.
