Within the open living space, we use this room all the time, and this table has fit into that routine without making the space feel precious. The surrounding furniture feels more connected now. I appreciate it most when the room is just being lived in normally. I am happy with the balance we ended up with in the open living space.
My husband thought we could leave our living area as it was, but even he admits the piece made the setup better. The different opinions in our house finally landed in the same place. The overall effect in our living area is stronger than the individual piece looked on its own. For me, that makes the piece one of the better choices we made for our living area.
There is more cohesion in my open living space now, and it happened as soon as this table went into place. I wish I had planned the surrounding pieces around it sooner; once I did, the room made more sense.
