Morning and evening, this chest simply works with how we actually live in our guest room. I am happy with the balance we ended up with in our guest room.
Within my primary bedroom, the room finally has a focal point that still feels easy to live with. The surrounding furniture feels less random now that this chest is part of my primary bedroom. There is character here, but not so much that the space feels busy. Seeing this chest with the rest of my primary bedroom makes the whole arrangement feel more connected. I am happy with the balance we ended up with in my primary bedroom.
Here in the living area, the chest works just as well for a quiet evening as it does when the house is busy. The visual weight feels right to me, and the room still has plenty of breathing space. The best furniture choices for me are the ones that improve the whole room, and this one does. I notice the improvement most during the normal morning and evening routine. I would make the same decision for the living area again.
