We did not need a full room makeover; this dining table was enough to make the open dining area feel more complete. I have already stopped thinking of it as the new piece, which is probably the best compliment. It made the dining area feel like a real gathering place. It has earned its place in the room.
Most days, the dining room centerpiece simply feels like it belongs in the eat-in kitchen, which is exactly what I wanted. Nothing about it feels fussy in day-to-day use.
Before guests arrive, there is very little I feel the need to change around this dining table in the open dining area.
