In our entryway, the room now gets the kind of compliments that sound like people actually noticed the whole space.
Within our living area, family came over recently, and this console ended up getting more compliments than anything else in this room. Our living area feels better as a whole, which matters more to me than any single detail.
We finished decorating our living area just before a housewarming, and the console ended up being the detail everyone noticed. I was aiming for a calmer overall arrangement, and the overall setup now feels much more coherent. From different parts of our living area, the console still feels like it belongs with everything else. There is character here, but not so much that the space feels busy. I am pleased with the decision and with how our living area came together.
