Weeks later, the thing I notice most is how complete our main dining space feels with this credenza. I notice it without feeling like the whole room revolves around it. The room feels collected rather than simply furnished. I am pleased with the decision and with how our main dining space came together.
In our main dining space, there is something nice about furniture that makes this room feel better without changing how you live in it. The room has a better sense of proportion to my eye now.
Looking at the living area now, most days I do not think about the furniture individually, but this piece still makes the space feel more settled. What surprised me was how well it worked in everyday life instead of only looking good on its own, especially during the ordinary parts of the week.
Our guests do not necessarily know what changed, but they keep saying our dining room feels better since this sideboard went in. There is character here, but not so much that the space feels busy.
