Someone asks about this desk almost every time we have people over, which still makes me smile. My work corner now feels like part of the home instead of a temporary setup.
The scale of the room feels better to my eye now that the work table is part of the arrangement. What surprised me was how much calmer the room seemed, especially after we stopped fussing with the arrangement. The overall effect feels considered without becoming precious. The space looks polished while the house still feels lived in. I would make the same decision for the work room again.
Of everything I changed in our study, the piece made the most immediate visual difference.
