In the overall arrangement, a lot of furniture looks good by itself, but the piece also works with the rest of this room. I was aiming for an update that would still feel comfortable day to day, and the room finally has that balance. I was aiming for something that would work with what we already owned, and this ended up being the right direction. What surprised me was how much the surrounding furniture benefited visually, especially when the room is being used normally. I can change smaller things around this nightstand without feeling like the whole plan for our bedside area has to change. I was aiming for a room that felt collected rather than decorated all at once, and this ended up being the right direction. I would choose the same direction again for this space.
