A family member noticed the dining room looked more finished before I even pointed out the new table.

Once the novelty passed, I still liked how the dining room centerpiece made the dining room feel during everyday life. I have already stopped thinking of it as the new piece, which is probably the best compliment. It works just as well on a normal weeknight as it does when people come over. The piece has a nice presence in person, but it does not make the rest of the room feel secondary. It has earned its place in the room.
