When the house is quiet, I notice the dining table even more because it gives the open dining area such an easy sense of balance. It works with the rest of our furniture instead of competing with it.

Bought for ordinary day-to-day use, the table has made the breakfast room feel more settled over holiday meals. It works just as well on a normal weeknight as it does when people come over. The piece photographs well, but I actually like it more in normal everyday light. I am glad we went with it.
