Among the other furniture in my bedroom, I kept coming back to the bed because it looked like it would suit the space, and it does.
For the way we use our guest bedroom, my daughter noticed that this room looked finished the first evening this bedroom piece was there. It is always a good sign when people notice a change without the room feeling showy. It is slightly more noticeable in the room than I expected, though not in a way I regret.
At first I was unsure how much this bed would stand out in my bedroom, but it settled into the space nicely.
With everything else left as it was, there is more cohesion in this room now, and it happened as soon as this bed went into place. The bedroom has a calmer, more complete feeling now. It is distinct enough to notice and quiet enough to live with. The bed now feels like the true center of the bedroom, which is what the room had been missing. This ended up being exactly the kind of update our guest bedroom needed.
