My first impression was good, but the table makes even more sense after seeing it in the eat-in kitchen every day.
When we have friends over, this dining table is the part of the open dining area that makes everything feel more settled. It has been especially nice during visits from friends. It brought the whole dining space together. So far it has been the rare purchase that looks good and also fits the way the room is actually used. It feels like a keeper.
Under normal evening light, the dining room centerpiece still feels like the right choice for the open dining area. My partner was unsure at first, but likes the room much more now.
