From one side of our open living space to the other, the room now gets the kind of compliments that sound like people actually noticed the whole space. It was nice to hear someone else notice the same improvement I had been seeing.
For the house we actually live in, it is easy to appreciate the table on an ordinary weekday because it feels so at home in the room. The surrounding furniture feels less random now that the table is part of the open living space. What surprised me was how little else needed to change once this was in place, especially when friends are over. I actually like it more in everyday life than I expected from looking at it on its own. I was aiming for a calmer overall arrangement, and the rest of the furniture makes more sense around it.
