Description
Beyond being a place to rest, The Middleton Rice Bed is a narrative of design history and artisanal skill. The intricate acanthus leaf and rice carvings on the baluster posts are not just decorative; they reflect the bed's 18th-century American inspiration, lending an authentic, heirloom quality. Crafted from durable Khaya wood, a close relative of mahogany, this bed promises longevity and a rich, warm aesthetic that deepens with time. The thoughtful inclusion of removable posts allows you to tailor the bed's silhouette to your space, whether you prefer a grand statement or a slightly more understated elegance. It is designed to be the centerpiece of a traditionally styled bedroom, pairing beautifully with rich textiles and classic furnishings.

When the house is full of activity, this bedroom piece still feels like a natural part of the guest room rather than a display piece. The room feels more balanced from almost every angle now.

In our case, this bed was the piece that helped the primary bedroom feel like a complete space. I am glad I did not try to fill the spot with something busier. For us, it was the right call.
