I wanted the house to feel lived in rather than staged, and this case piece works well with that idea.
I wanted our dining room ready before family came to stay, and the cabinet pulled the space together in time. I wanted the room to feel welcoming before people arrived, not overly decorated. I would choose the same direction again for this space.
A close friend who is picky about interiors gave this piece an immediate thumbs-up in our study. Nobody treats the room like a showroom, and the piece still looks right in real life. The room feels more finished, but not more formal, and that balance matters to me. I like that this piece works with what we already had in our study instead of making the rest of the room feel outdated. For me, that makes this piece one of the better choices we made for our study.
In our hallway, a couple of guests have mentioned how pulled together this room feels, and the piece deserves some of the credit. The space feels more mature now without losing the relaxed feeling we wanted.
