I wanted the eat-in kitchen to feel finished rather than decorated, and this dining table helped get it there.
For me, the dining table works because it feels just as natural during a little work at the table as it does when the room is tidy. I rearranged the surrounding furniture once before I was completely happy with the setup.
Set into the dining room, the table creates a better sense of balance without becoming too dominant. It gave the room the anchor it was missing. We spend a lot of time in this part of the house, so I notice quickly when something feels out of place. It turned out to be exactly the kind of update we needed.
